    Description

    Energize has partnered with a cutting-edge robotics startup dedicated to crafting robots that enhance human quality of life and address the growing labor shortage challenge.

    With a team of seasoned experts who have honed their craft since the DARPA Robotics Challenge, they tackle society's most pressing issues using a comprehensive approach to robotics. Their mission is to revolutionize the world with groundbreaking products and technologies.

    They are on the lookout for driven engineers with a knack for robotics, particularly a Mechanical Engineering Manager with a proven track record in leading technical teams.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee a team of Mechanical Design Engineers
    • Organize and document best practices and standard processes
    • Develop and implement new processes where required
    • Collaborate with Lead Engineers to staff engineering design efforts and balance workloads
    • Provide technical direction and mentoring to employees on the team
    • Assist in building a world-class robotic design team
    • Work together with other departments (Electrical, Systems, Software, Production) to develop state-of-the-art robotic systems

    Skills required:

    • Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
    • 5+ years of engineering management experience
    • 10+ years of experience in development of robotic systems, or similar (automotive, aerospace, etc.)
    • Mastery of engineering fundamentals / first principles
    • Strong proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
    • Great team player able to perform within a dynamic start-up environment
    • Experience designing for multiple manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, 3D printing, Sheet Metal, Injection Molding, etc.
    • Experience with GD&T for machined components, tolerance stack up analysis, and DFM/A Analysis
    • Experience with conducting finite element analysis and reporting results
    • Experience with revision control systems and design revision processes
    • Experience with failure analysis/root cause analysis

    Bonus requirements (if you have great)

    • MaAsters in Electrical Engineering
    • Strong understanding of kinematics, structural design, and electromechanical actuation
    • Experience standing up design processes and procedures in a fast-paced environment
