    Description

    MISSION:

    The Lead Assembler provides day-to-day leadership for a designated area/cell with efficient and effective manufacturing tools, processes, and procedures. This position ensures the proper utilization of human and equipment resources to meet customer expectations, is the support for assembly of Auto Parts based on production schedules by following assembly instructions and procedures and is responsible for cell set up, labor assignment and material handling.

    Hours: 3:30 pm - 12:00 am, Monday - Friday (Overtime Required)

    KEY OUTCOMES (KPIs):

    1) OUTCOME: Leading the assembly team
    • Lead and direct manufacturing efforts of Industrial Assemblers
    • Work with Operations/Quality support functions to ensure all production processes, tools, and equipment are operating and meet Quality System Requirements
    • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to production processes and associate performance to ensure that processes are producing quality products for customers
    • Foster a positive climate and safe working environment that promotes associate well-being and team effectiveness across the organization for improved business results
    • Participate or lead other projects or assignments as needed
    • Verify part quality by using calipers, check lists and other quality tools if needed
    • Set up equipment and cells using set up instructions
    2) OUTCOME: Quality built into the process
    • Interpret visual aids and work instructions, and adhere to quality procedures
    • Product Lifting, packaging, and moving
    • Enter data into Enterprise Replenishment Program (ERP) system when required
    • Perform material transfers in ERP system when necessary
    • Working knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle and/or Microsoft D365)
    3) OUTCOME: Inventory Accuracy
    • Pick and stage assembly materials to fulfill the production needs
    • Perform quality inspections of assembled parts and record results
    • Make decisions based on training in quality and productivity
    • Perform basic problem-solving skills and machine troubleshooting
    • Use of scale for weigh-counting component parts
    • Sort non-conforming material
    4) OUTCOME: Additional Duties
    • Train to and follow established lean manufacturing processes and procedures
    • Ability to stand; walk; use hands to grip, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
