Milk Bar is seeking SEASONAL Pastry Cooks for our Williamsburg Commissary
****Seasonal position will be until June 27, 2021****
Open availability needed for weekdays and weekends
**JOB OVERVIEW**
The Seasonal Production Pastry Cook is responsible for executing daily and weekly recipe production in the Milk Bar commissary. They will utilize baking skills and previous pastry experience to prepare recipe components, assemble products and perform all necessary procedures related to production in the commissary.
**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
Communicate proactively with Production Managers and Lead Production Cooks throughout all shifts. Ability to communicate, ask for help, and work as part of a larger team.
Maintain a sanitary and organized work environment in compliance with all DOH/Milk Bar standards
Follow and comply with all established procedures, recipes and guides, including but not limited to assembly, equipment SOPs, weights and measures, health and sanitation, and general safe work practices.
Meet production volume and production schedule while maintaining stringent adherence to quality standards for all Milk Bar products.
Track product and assembly information in daily batch log
Participate in product quality assurance through regular tastings, both individual components and finished goods
Monitor proper storage, FIFO, and shelf life guidelines for all products
Compliance and adherence to all appropriate health and safety regulations and cleanliness requirements, including food safety and department organization.
Knowledge and skill with a variety of kitchen tools and equipment, including but not limited to 140 quart mixers, dough sheeter, combi ovens etc.
Able to monitor baking processes and identify issues and/or adjustments to adhere with Milk Bar quality standards.
Work with a sense of urgency and purpose to achieve daily, weekly and long-term goals.
Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager in accordance with the needs of the business
Uphold Milk Bar standards for excellent customer service. Be friendly and courteous in all guest interactions. Maintain excellent customer service while leading and participating in customer facing culinary activations
Adhere to all new and existing company policies and standards. Work with flexibility, integrity and a solution-based mentality
Fully understand and exhibit the Milk Bar ethos, embody our core values, inspire celebration, and create real magic. Serve as a brand ambassador, both internally and externally.
**Please note that your duties are subject to change at the Bakerys discretion.**
**SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS**
1 year experience in baking and/or related pastry production
Food Handlers Card preferred
Understanding of proper pastry methods, techniques, and standards
Be passionate about the food industry with a strong interest in high quality products
Efficient time management skills with attention to detail
Proper attire including porter shirt, apron, hairnet, and closed-toed, non-slip shoes is required.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and 50/75 lbs. occasionally
Open availability and schedule flexibility is a MUST
Ability to build relationships and embrace change
