    Description

    Position Overview:

    The role of Network Director of School Operations involves overseeing the school operations program at multiple Mastery schools. This position reports to the Senior Director of School Operations, collaborating to address school operations challenges across the network. The Network Director provides support to Assistant Principals of Operations at all schools to ensure effective implementation of operational procedures. Additionally, they work closely with the central office team to develop and execute efficient operational systems.


    Responsibilities:

    School Operations Program Design

    • Collaborate with the Senior Director of School Operations to design the School Operations model for all Mastery sites
    • Monitor and provide feedback on the implementation of the School Operations model, working with school and central office leadership
    • Enhance the model through teamwork with school and central office leadership
    • Assist in the recruitment of new Assistant Principals of Operations at school sites
    • Support onboarding and training programs for new Assistant Principals of Operations

    School Operations Management

    • Supervise a caseload of site-based Assistant Principals of Operations to ensure quality program implementation
    • Organize operations meetings with Assistant Principals of Operations to devise effective problem-solving strategies
    • Coordinate operational assistance for instructional activities with school principals
    • Strengthen school operations teams through effective coaching of Assistant Principals of Operations

    School Administration

    • Offer guidance to school leaders in critical areas such as transportation management and compliance
    • Provide coaching and targeted support to new Assistant Principals of Operations, focusing on procurement and facilities
    • Ensure accuracy of student data in databases through technical and accountability support to Assistant Principals of Operations
    • Lead data analysis for site-based audits
    • Ensure non-instructional programs are compliant and well managed
    • Handle specialized projects in the region as required

    Infrastructure Management

    • Collaborate with the network Facilities team to effectively manage projects in all facilities
    • Assist school leadership in planning layout and space usage for each facility
    • Support Assistant Principals of Operations during construction projects and space transitions

    Financial Management and Compliance

    • Assist Assistant Principals of Operations in making sound financial decisions
    • Coordinate between schools and the central office Compliance team for quality data submissions

    Qualifications:

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong organizational abilities for handling multiple projects simultaneously
    • Capacity to cultivate a collaborative work environment while ensuring accountability
    • Proficiency in using computers, software programs, and technology
    • Knowledge of public education and charter schools is advantageous
    • Ability to coach and enhance the skills of staff members

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
    • 5-7 years of work experience with a strong leadership track record
    • At least four years of team management experience
    • Experience in creating sustainable systems for growing organizations
    • Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary projects
    • Preference for urban education background
    • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

    Physical Requirements:

    The role requires both on-site and remote work. Physical demands include traveling to network campuses, office maneuvering, fine motor skills for computer use, and sitting for extended periods. Additionally, the role involves physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, and reaching file cabinets.
