Chief Estimator

Company:

A leading Commercial General Contractor in Houston specializing in Ground Up commercial projects including office, healthcare, industrial, retail, and k-12.


Location:
Houston, TX


Experience:

Over 10 years of estimating experience in the commercial construction sector in Houston.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead and oversee the estimating department, ensuring accurate and timely estimates for all projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Utilize historical data, industry benchmarks, and market trends to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
  • Manage the bid process from start to finish, including soliciting bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor bids for completeness and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.
  • Provide support to the preconstruction and business development teams as needed.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Over 10 years of estimating experience in the commercial construction sector, with a focus on groundup projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the Houston commercial construction market.
  • Proven track record of successfully bidding on and winning projects exceeding $25 million.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Pay:
$110, $135,000.00 per year
