    We are a residential general contracting company located in Burlington, MA. We work with renovations, restorations, rehabs and repairs of all kinds on our clients' homes.

    Over the past 16+ years in business, we have seen tremendous growth with our skilled team of carpenters, managers, and general laborers.

    We are looking to add a

    Human Resources Generalist to our team.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    Develop & implement recruitment strategies to ensure robust & diverse applicant pool for all openings.

    Conduct initial interviews and review all candidates.

    Manage the hiring process to ensure consistency across all departments.

    Manage onboarding of new employees

    Manage all company benefits including enrollment, terminations, and any employee questions.

    Design HR policies & procedures


    Responsible for providing direction on laws that impact the company such as Workers Comp, FLSA, OSHA, ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, or local regulations.

    Process paperwork for STD, LTD, WC, PFL, and FMLA as needed.

    Assist Office Manager for any Workers' Compensation or Insurance claims.

    Administration of firm policies i.e. coaching and discipline of employees

    Manage internal communications & company surveys

    Develop & administer HR policies, processes, and training in departments.

    Ensure company HR compliance and strategy needs.

    Respond to employee questions, concerns and inquiries.

    Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.

    Coach, counsel, & provide guidance to leadership team in administration of employment matters.

    Prepare and administer annual performance reviews.

    Responsibility for disciplinary action and terminations.

    Terminating employees and conducting exit interviews

    PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Excellent knowledge of HR practices.

    Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Personnel Administration, or related field or the equivalent of education and expertise

    Exceptional leadership qualities

    Excellent people skills.

    A minimum of 5 years' experience in a HR role.

    Deep knowledge of HR functions (talent management, recruitment, evaluations)

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state labor laws

    Microsoft Office proficient:
    Specifically, Word, Excel, and Outlook

    Valid driver's license

    Experience working in an office setting

    Excellent understanding of computer use

    Must be detail-oriented

    Ability to work alone and with a team

    Must have a caring and professional demeanor with customers

    Good listening and communication skills

    Positive attitude and a willingness to learn

    Present a professional image in dress, grooming, and demeanor

    Must adhere to the company policies in the Fresh Start Contracting company handbook


    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    The HR Generalist works on the Finance team and oversees all Human Resources at Fresh Start Contracting Corp.
