    Description

    Our client is in a strategic joint venture with a PE firm specializing in the industrial technology sector and the innovation leader of connection solutions for the transportation, logistics, and distribution industries. Their mission is to revolutionize the industrial sector with an innovative digital marketplace that will transform the experience for dealers, customers, and suppliers, offering unparalleled ease, speed, and connectivity.

    They are on a quest for rapid, inventive expansion, and need a Product Manager who is ready to take on the challenge.

    Key Competencies:

    This Product Manager needs a diverse set of skills to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced startup environment:

    • Strategic Execution: Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans, while managing details that align with the company's vision.
    • Technical Insight: A solid understanding of the digital landscape, with hands-on experience in product management tools, analytics, UX/UI design, and an awareness of tech trends.
    • Collaboration and Support: Work within a team environment to promote innovation and collaboration.
    • Effective Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with all company stakeholders.
    • Problem-Solving: Tackle challenges thoughtfully to make data-informed decisions, manage risks and resolve issues throughout the product lifecycle.
    • Customer Orientation: Embrace a customer-centric mindset, attuned to market trends and customer expectations.
    • Adaptability: The agility to operate effectively in our fluid startup environment, responding promptly to evolving business needs.
    • Logistics Industry: While experience in logistics and transportation is not mandatory, it is regarded as a valuable asset.

    Responsibilities:

    • Agile Collaboration: Contribute to the execution of product initiatives, utilizing agile methods to achieve efficient and effective results.
    • Customer Feedback Loop: Establish processes to swiftly integrate and act on customer feedback, ensuring product evolution reflects user demands.
    • Design and Development Collaboration: Engage in design and development discussions, promoting a team environment where innovation thrives.
    • Product Strategy: Partner with team members to refine and advance the strategic product vision, aligned with the company's broader goals.
    • Product Roadmap: Own and define product roadmap
    • Team Growth and Learning: Assist with talent growth and provide guidance to team members, cultivating a capable and flexible product team.
    • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Account Management for unified product development and market entry strategies.
    • Operational Execution: Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, delivering high-quality products on schedule.
    • Platform Contribution: Provide insights for the delivery of a competitive platform, with a focus on superior user experience.
    • Innovation Leadership: Maintain a dedication to customer-led product innovation, guiding the team toward solutions that elevate value and user satisfaction.
    • Continuous Enhancement: Advocate for ongoing enhancement within the product team, utilizing insights from metrics, user feedback, and market research to propel product superiority.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
    • Minimum 6-10 years of experience in product management, consulting, or related technical experience
    • Experience influencing cross-functional decisions involving participating stakeholders.

    Location:

    Greater Chicago Area - this role will be a hybrid role, onsite 3 days a week, 2 days WFH.
