    Description
    Provides resources support and training to members of the recovery and mental health community. Support program participants in a sober living environment to facilitate individual program goals.

    Assist individuals and families with access to services in the greater community, organize and schedule services in the community center.

    Participate with client care coordinating team on goals toward permanent housing, and healthy living. Collaborate with substance use disorder, mental health and housing professionals, and community volunteers.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    AA plus one year experience or 3 years of experience in substance abuse treatment, prevention, or recovery program. Adult and Child First Aid and CPR certified.

    If in recovery, minimum of two years of sobriety; or 1 year of sobriety and direct experience working with people with alcohol and/or drug addictions.

    $23.27 – $25.90

    The following responsibilities represent the essential functions of the position. An employee in this classification is responsible for carrying out the following functions.
    .
    Acts as a resource for alcohol and drug addiction information, treatment, education, and/or prevention.

    Works with Staff, County Behavioral Health and other collaborative agencies to ensure referral for additional supports for individuals and families in recovery from addiction and/or serios mental illness.

    Provides scheduling and implementation of activities in the Nancy Dodd Community Center, including scheduling AA/NA meetings.
    Taking a lead role on special events planning and implementation in the center.
    Training community members assigned as volunteer co-op day care coordinator.
    Participates in client orientations, move-ins, and tours and presentations.
    Preparing meals and snacks for distribution from the kitchen.
    Assures timely communications with persons served, staff, to assess progress on individual client goals.

    Attend team meetings and participate in the development and implementation of program planning efforts including policies and procedures, and the implementation of program goals.

    Works with volunteers and residents to support program activities in a social model setting including accepting in-kind donations, tracking in-kind volunteer hours, supervising community donation room.

    Assures compliance with agency policies and procedures, all safety regulations, and compliance with all client confidentiality requirements.
    May perform special projects or other duties as assigned to assure the efficiency of the program.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    Knowledge of alcohol and drug addiction treatment, prevention and recovery program development
    Knowledge of child development theory and practices; ability to maintain a rapport with children and parents.
    Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and databases
    Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service.
    Ability to facilitate systems and checks to assure delivery of quality services to internal and external customers.
    Ability to observe, evaluate, document, and communicate verbally and in writing.
    Ability to communicate and lead in a culturally competent and sensitive manner.
    Ability to account for cash and receive payments, purchase supplies, and track expenses.

    Physical and Environmental Conditions:
    Constant movement around the service area.

    Time spent sitting, using a computer station, periods of intense concentration, using the telephone, computer, office machines, and do paperwork.

    Time spent in meetings. Exposure to outdoor weather and environmental conditions.

    Employees will be required to be fingerprinted, screened for tuberculosis, and trained in CPR & First Aid.
