    Hiring Immediately for the Camden Area

    POSITION PURPOSE

    The Community Youth Program (CYP) Coordinator will provide support and encouragement to coaches and instructors in learning the specific progressive or competitive program model to implement curriculum with partner sites and organizations.

    The CYP Coordinator will also work with and provide the appropriate level of assistance for the participants in the Community Youth Programs Department which oversees, and is not limited to, Watershed Education by Bike (WEB), Soccer for Success, CATCH, Safe places to Play, and other initiatives the department is tasked with facilitating.

    The Coordinator also must ensure safety and hold program sites to meet the adherences of all YM
    CAsafety standards and rules.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    Conduct CYP program instruction in accordance with YM
    CAprogram standards. Ensure adherence to YM
    CAprogressive or competitive standards and quality.
    Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn YM
    CAprograms. Encourage and support staff volunteers and students to provide an enjoyable YMCA.
    Reinforce the YM
    CAvalues of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility through example and recognition of participant displays of character.
    Assist with site observations and data collection to meet all grant requirements.
    Support Community Youth Programs Team Leader with registration information, attendance, and other functions.
    Participate as a part of the YM
    CAstaff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment. Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
    Complete timely reports of incidents, complaints or compliments of the games.
    Perform other related duties as required.

    ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
    BA or equivalent work experience and at least 1-2 years of supervisory experience managing a team
    Desire and ability to learn tasks as assigned
    Enjoys working with children of all ages
    Exhibit strong leadership skills; possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence

    ility to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word to impart oral information and to convey detailed, spoken instructions to staff, members, children, and volunteers accurately, quickly, and loudly.

    Ability to perceive the nature of sounds by ear; ability to lift and carry 50-75 pounds; ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling.

    Ability to move about on foot quickly; ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.

    Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where they actually are and clearly see at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more.


    ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
    The physical environment requires the employee to possibly work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure such as hearing protection and rubber gloves.
