- Performs engineering analyses and evaluations (primarily computer-based) in support of the planning and design of civil works projects, including but not limited to the areas of stormwater management modeling, flood hazard mapping, hydrologic analysis, hydraulic modeling – multi dimensional. Coastal hydraulic modeling experience is especially valuable for this role (hydrodynamics, coastal erosion, wave height calculations, or runup calculations).
- Maintains and documents communication with clients through letters and telephone throughout the development and completion of a project.
- Monitors team members progress and advises team members of schedules and deadlines.
- Reviews schedules and budgets relative to project progress and completion.
- Conducts project status review checking accuracy of work completed and monitors timeliness of project completion.
- Attends meetings on project management.
- Assists Project Managers with any administrative duties concerning completion of assigned project.
- Maintains project file.
- Assists Project Manager in preparation of engineering studies and reports.
- Provide technical guidance and training to members of the project team.
- Provide project design using sound engineering principles and software.
- Assists in preparation of contract documents and technical specifications.
- Assists Project Manager in assuring quality control procedures are performed.
- Assist in preparation of project drawings.
- Performs necessary code research.
- Responsible for the accuracy of each segment of the work and the final check of the work.

Provides quality planning, designing and technical overview to assist Project Manager/Client Account Manager in delivering projects, within budgetary and time constraints. Provides administrative and technical support to the Project Manager/Client Account Manager. Additionally, provides design and engineering assistance to other project team members.

Work Environment
This job generally operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. It may require long hours and some weekend work.
Travel
Minimal travel is required. If any, travel is primarily local during the business day, although some projects may require more out-of-the-area and overnight travel.
What you'll need:Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering and passed the Fundamentals of Engineering test and three or more years of related work experience (including the HEC suite of hydrologic and modeling tools). Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering, passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, passed the Principles and Practice of Engineering Exam, and three or more years of related work experience in H&H water resource-related projects including coastal modeling. Experience with both 1D and 2D modeling. Certifications/Registrations Certifications or registrations as mandated by profession. Professional registration/certification desired. Other Knowledge and Skills Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Knowledge of design, on-line reports and databases preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in ArcGIS and AutoCAD / Civil 3D with strong analytical and computation skills. Experience with EPA Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) or Stormwise (ICPR) modeling software is desired. Coastal hydraulic modeling experience is especially valuable for this role (hydrodynamics, coastal erosion, wave height calculations, or runup calculations). Excellent verbal and written communication skills are preferred. Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a dynamic team environment.
