- Serve as a technical specialist performing a full range of duties to provide engineering support on the operation, closure, and post-closure of land disposal units. Reviews statutes, regulations, and policies including those related to the land disposal of waste under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
- Gather and assembles data and information needed to provide engineering support related to land disposal units. Plans investigations to gather data and information and prepares summary documents presenting and assessing information and data for the development of guidance and regulations.
- Participate as a member of a team working on issues related to engineering aspects of land disposal units.
- Use written and oral communications to prepare and review letters, policies and Federal Register notices related to engineering aspects of land disposal of waste and respond to requests for information and policies. Prepares and participates in decision-making briefings and represents the Branch and Office on Agency workgroups, at public meetings or conferences.
