    JF&CS is now seeking a Part-timePsychiatrist (10 Hours per Week).

    PURPOSE:

    As a provider of psychiatric services, you will play a vital role in our mission to improve the mental health of our community. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals across the lifespan, including adolescents, adults, and older adults. Your role will involve the development and implementation of treatment plans, medication management, and providing counseling to help patients achieve better mental health outcomes. We are seeking a psychiatric provider who is dedicated to patient care, empathetic, and committed to making a difference in the lives of those struggling with mental health issues.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for new and existing patients, considering their medical history, social factors, and presenting symptoms.
    • Formulate accurate diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans for patients for medication management and provide recommendations for psychotherapy or other therapeutic interventions.
    • Monitor and adjust treatment plans as needed based on patient progress and any changing clinical needs.
    • Provide psychoeducation and support to patients and their families, helping them better understand their conditions and treatment options.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including medical providers, case managers, and nurses, to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
    • Work collaboratively with JF&CS Clinical team to consult on cases.
    • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, documenting assessments, treatment plan, progress notes, and changes in medications. Complete clinical notes within 72 hours and other necessary paperwork in a timely manner to comply with all administrative regulations.
    • Stay current with developments in psychiatry and follow evidence-based practices to ensure the highest standard of care.
    • Comply with program evaluation, policy and procedures, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.
    Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria
    • Interest in working from both prevention and intervention approaches
    • Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques
    • Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience with and interest in working with people from a broad array of cultures, lifestyles, behaviors and spiritual practices
    • High integrity when dealing with restricted and/or confidential information
    • Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients while building trust and respect
    • Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office.
    • Proficient in the use of an electronic health record (EHR).
    • Comfortable with utilizing technology at all points of the day, including telehealth software, video communication, and internal communication tools.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
    • Medical degree (MD or DO) and completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program.
    • Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP)
    • For candidates who are also Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners: Current state licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, certification from a recognized psychiatric nursing organization, and experience in psychiatric nursing.
    • Board certification in Psychiatry or eligibility for board certification.
    • Current, unrestricted state medical license and DEA registration.
    • Experience working with a diverse patient population and a deep understanding of the unique needs of adolescents, adults, and older adults.
