Job Description

Alabama State University, Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, invites applications for the position of Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Experience. The Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Experience leads the directives of the Student-Athlete Academic Support Services office, working to support student-athletes in balancing their athletics and academic pursuits on campus while working fully in the context of overall student development in a higher education environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaborates with other administrators to consider appropriate department services for student-athletes, and then develops, implements, and manages several programs that address the needs of sudden-athletes and coaches with regard to their overall success, belonging and welfare.
Works in close conjunction with Athletics Compliance staff regarding student-athletes academic performance as it relates to athletic eligibility.
Serves as the main liaison between and amongst student-athletes, coaches, recruits, parents, and existing university student and academic support services, to provide integrated and comprehensive support to the ASU student athlete population.
Manage Student-Athlete Development Programming
Serves as liaison for athletics on campus committees and working groups
Develops and maintains positive and productive relationships with key internal and external constituents
Provide strategies to maintain satisfactory Academic Progress Rates (APR) and Graduation Success Rates (GSR) within the athletics department
Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in a related field, 5 years of relevant experience, must be able to work a flexible schedule, including, but not limited to, evenings and weekends, have a passion for working with student-athletes, coaches, and staff in a university athletic department that is committed to excellence, be committed to the success and enhancement of the student-athlete experience, have working knowledge of rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics as well as knowledge of overall student athlete experience, strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to be both thoughtful and results oriented.
