Job Overview:


At The School of LIVE Music, we are seeking creative and self-motivated individuals who are dedicated and experienced in their craft.

As an Instructor, you will be responsible for meeting students where they are to help them increase JOY, build confidence and attain goals through music and fine arts education.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the community of Montgomery and in the lives of students, all ages.

You will have creative freedom to customize your lessons, workshops and camps. You will have creative freedom to plan and participate in performances and shows if you'd like. We are a school and also an evening venue, New Orleans Style. We facilitate seasonal student performances, Comedy Shows, Community platform Talent Shows, Games Shows such as "Name That Tune", intimate song-writer house shows, karaoke birthday parties and more


Duties:


  • Develop lessons, workshops, camps, shows
  • Dream it and do it
  • Deliver your unique engaging and interactive instruction to students
  • Constantly assess students learning through their presentations and skills ability. Adjust your teaching methods accordingly.
  • Be a FUN and challenging experience that produces JOY, discipline, and hunger for more
  • Utilize effective classroom management
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff
  • Have thoughtful timely response communication with all necessary parties
  • Participate in professional learning and live performances to stay current with best practices in education and skills

Requirements:


  • YOU ARE A TEACHER
  • Self Care as a role model (emotional, physical, spiritual)
  • See yourself as someone who makes a difference and has a Heart for the Community, young and old
  • Helpful: Experience working with students in an instructional setting, and performance on stage
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students in ages between choose your age group).
  • Organizational skills to plan lessons and manage your program

Preferred Skills:

  • Background in lessons, performance and teaching
  • Familiarity with oneonone private lessons, and group lessons
