    Software Engineer - CONTRACTOR (Part-Time)

    Job Description

    Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) invites a Contract Software Engineer to join the professional design team in Kirkland, WA.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain embedded software and tools following DO-178C processes
    • Create and maintain documentation according to DO-178C processes
    • Build and maintain software tools for customers, engineering, and manufacturing
    • Support in solving software/hardware integration issues
    • Contribute to microcontroller board initialization
    • Provide customer assistance and training

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
    • 0 to 2 years of experience in embedded software development using C
    • Experience or coursework in C++, C#, Java, or Python
    • Understanding of the software development lifecycle
    • Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting code and hardware
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
    • Preferred: Familiarity with CAN protocols, TCP/IP, Qt framework, and cybersecurity

    Employment Criteria

    • US Person status under ITAR regulations is required
    • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening, which includes cannabis testing, is mandatory

    Salary Information

    The base salary range is approximately $38.12 to $57.18 per hour, influenced by various job-related factors.
