Co-ordinated food/clothes drive for the migrant worker community.  Drove volunteer programs for the old age home. Facilitated online yoga and wellness programs.  Organized events for school students to spend their time teaching digital skills to the elderly at community centers.  During the COVID pandemic, conducted online classes for seniors, teaching them how to keep in touch virtually.

As part of the organizing committee, launched fund raising programs and managed the funds. As member of the PTA, I introduced the new family buddy program, which I had previously launched and ran in International School of Helsinki. Volunteered in several fund-raising initiatives to sponsor poor migrant workers’ kids to go to school. and many kids for cleft lip surgery.

Created the buddy program at the school for new families arriving in Helsinki. Connected new families and existing ones before their move. So when they land they would have a family to answer questions and help them settle in the new place.

As part of the development team conceived and wrote parts of the debugger - JSP Plugin subsystems of Visual Café. Responsible for the development of test suites for the debugger.  Assisted Manager in recruitment, and interviews.  Served as a mentor for junior members of the team.

Senior Software Engineer, Internet Tools division, Symantec Corporation. Jan 1997 – May 2001

Solely responsible for the testing of database integration of the server pages generated by the product.  Verified the Y2K compliance. Responsible for the development of test suites. Served as a liaison between QA and Tech Support. Participated in code/documentation reviews.

Software QA Engineer, Borland International April 1994 - Dec 1996

Responsible for Software testing of the Borland Database Engine (BDE).  Primarily responsible for the design, and development of tests for data access, cursors, records, batch moves, etc.

Responsibilities started with office administration, customer service and liaising with HR.  Soon promoted as supervisor of a team working with customer service representatives, company leadership, customers, and international visitors.  Received outstanding customer service award every year. Coached team members on company practices and values.
