    Description

    Overview

    The Windows Hardware Lab Kit (HLK) team owns the charter for continuously improving the quality of Windows hardware ecosystem. The HLK team delivers both the infrastructure and contents to validate all devices, firmware, drivers, systems, and solutions, through partner Co-Engineering engagements and Windows Certification Program. We work closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers(OEM)/Original Design Manufacturers(ODM)/Independent Hardware Vendors(IHV)/Independent Software Vendors(ISV) throughout the Operating System(OS) development cycle, and after each OS release; the HLK continues to improve the quality and fuels the growth of a vibrant Windows hardware ecosystem.

    In Core OS, we are responsible for the Operating Systems that power Azure, Microsoft's Linux OS, the platforms for Windows Client and Xbox, and our Windows Server ecosystem – through all of these, we support every one of our cloud businesses and billions of customers around the world.     Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.
  • Industry experience with device drivers and/or firmware development and test automation.

    • Other Requirements:

    Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.

    • Software Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $81,900 - $160,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $105,600 - $174,600 per year.

    Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will be directly contributing to multiple parts of engineering, from customer engagement, design, coding, testing, to telemetry analysis.
  • Design universal test content that can run across Windows hardware platforms.
  • Enlighten the content deployment and execution pipeline via the cloud to speed up our co-engineering enablement.
  • Use the telemetry data to continuously monitor ecosystem health and drive Microsoft's future technology decisions.
