- Manages and supervises work on hazardous waste sites in a safe and efficient manner
- Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
- Assigns and monitors all work being performed by Company personnel and subcontractors on hazardous waste remediation and environmental response projects. Operates in conjunction with other operations managers to ensure product quality
- Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects
- Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority
- Assists in procurement of labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors for assigned projects
- Oversees accounting and other project documentation
- Assists in developing, implementing, and administering site safety plans, division audits, and jobsite critiques through site and division visits
- Assists with the preparation of bids and proposals
- Ensures that equipment is maintained to company standards and maintains communications with Mechanical Department regarding equipment used on project
- Assists with the preparation of project reports for management, client, or others
- Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies, schedules or plans as required
- Hires, trains, and supervises, regularly evaluates performance and counsels division and/or project staff under direct report
- Assists with recruiting and training employees for projects
- Monitors Customer Service updates from the field and others about projects in a timely manner
- Requires extensive contact with customers, prospective customers, and field operations staff and regular contact with general office staff and outside professional organizations in order to grow revenues
- Assists with expanding and increasing sales with technical buyers
- Confers with project/division personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems
- Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required.

Job DescriptionDescription:General Summary: The Environmental Senior Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated projects (remediation, emergency response, industrial services), as well as provides quality control and quality assurance for assigned projects on a daily basis to ensure that goals or objectives of the project(s) are accomplished on time and within the prescribed budget. The Environmental Senior Project Manager is expected to perform at a high level and take ownership of assigned tasks, often without specific guidance other than the specific goals and objectives of the organization, and demonstrate leadership through technical expertise, flexibility, and competency with not only all company functions and procedures but also industry-specific means and methods. The qualified candidate must have a demonstrated successful background in managing Environmental or Emergency Response Operations in a fast paced environment. A technical background will be needed in order to provide oversight of environmental operations in adverse situations and the expertise and ability to direct the personnel, talent, and scope of services to provide a profitable solution to meet the customer's needs.
Positions reporting to this position: Environmental Project Manager(s), Environmental Manager(s).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Required Certification/Licensure: HAZWOPER, CPR, first-aid, Industrial Safety Management. Valid driver's license required.
Experience Requirements:
Five years of related, seasoned experience along with formal education which has reached the level of a four-year college or university degree. Must have experience managing key accounts and/or regional accounts. Selling and having existing relationships within industries involving with agriculture products, environmental conditions and/or industrial cleaning is a plus. Proficiency in building relationships with decision-makers, location managers and regional leaders required along with the ability to demonstrate creative methods to leverage relationships which generate the development of a vibrant collection of contacts in growing a business network.
Knowledge/ Skills:
Strong ability to effectively communicate technical information to all types of people, both verbally and in writing; multitask and coordinate confusing and often conflicting priorities; strong communication, decision-making, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 50lbs., move about the office, turn on and operate a computer in the applicable environment, communicate efficiently and effectively on the telephone or in person, and complete required paperwork.
Travel: Subject to long, irregular hours and 24-hour on-call availability. Must be able to travel 75% of the time. Driving for extended periods. On call 24/7 unless on scheduled for time off.
Working Conditions: Indoor and external working environments. Regularly exposed to noisy, loud environment; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions. Some exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, risk of radiation, and vibration.
