    General Summary:

    We are currently seeking a summer intern for the Tax Department's Fixed Asset Team. The schedule will be approximately 32-40 hours per week, beginning in June 2024 and ending in August 2024. The intern will be trained to produce RS Means Reports. These Reports provide accurate and up-to-date construction estimating cost data for Residential and Commercial Buildings in our portfolio. The intern will produce approximately two hundred (200) RS Means Reports.

    LeFrak affiliates today own and manage an extensive portfolio of real property concentrated in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area, as well as South Florida, Los Angeles and throughout the West Coast. Although we focus on the residential and office sectors, LeFrak affiliates also invest in numerous hospitality and retail assets.

    Intern will:

    • Will work directly with the Fixed Asset team within the company's Tax Department
    • Obtain first-hand experience of the costs associated with constructing buildings.
    • Obtain industry experience with IRS Tangible Property Regulations (Repair Regs) and learn about the nine Units of Property (UOP).
    • Work in a team environment.
    • Gains valuable work experience under knowledgeable professionals in the industry.
    • Learn additional advanced Excel skills.

    Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

    • Interacting with the RS Means website.
      1. Input each of our building's parameters.
      2. Download RS Means Report for each Residential and Commercial Building to an Excel file.
    • Summarize each building's costs on the Report by Unit of Property (UOP) on Excel
    • Compare current RS Means Reports to Reports created in prior years.
