    SUMMARY:

    The Director of Planning is a leadership position responsible for overseeing and optimizing the integration of sales, production, and supply chain functions. With a focus on aligning sales forecasts, production plans, and inventory management, the Director of Planning plays a critical role in meeting customer demand while driving operational efficiency and profitability. This position requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, analytical acumen, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to foster collaboration across departments.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and execute strategies to maintain an optimally balanced asset pool both domestically and internationally while overseeing daily fulfilment of customer demand.
    • Utilize advanced forecasting techniques, data analysis, and market intelligence to develop accurate sales forecasts and identify potential demand and supply gaps. Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to evaluate different business scenarios and assess their impact on the S&OP process.
    • Lead and/or work closely with Sourcing, S&OP, Sales, Asset Management, Operations, Transportation, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Finance and Business Intelligence teams to implement robust planning and inventory management and sourcing/logistics execution strategies and processes.
    • Lead continuous improvement in S&OP process, technology application, and predictive analytics capabilities, working to improve our ability to forecast demand and supply accurately, and proactively manage risks and opportunities to improve overall business profitability and effectiveness.
    • Foster strong partnerships and collaboration with various internal stakeholders, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Plant Operations, Asset Management and Supply Chain teams.
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration to resolve conflicts, make informed decisions, and drive consensus in the S&OP process.
    • Work closely with Finance, Sourcing and Network Planning to determine appropriate production and capex requirements.
    • Development and oversight of optimal network planning model to reduce transportation and operational costs while improving customer service.
    • Actively prevent and resolve service failures and implement operations, sourcing, and transportation corrective actions plans.
    • Develop and execute plans to rationalize legacy product offerings and deliver operational improvements.
    • Manage seasonal/holiday demand operating plans for transportation.
    • Develop and monitor inventory targets and transportation moves by understanding and utilizing customer's growing seasons, commodities, volumes, projected needs, and buying patterns.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • 4-year degree in Business, Supply Chain & Logistics, or related
    • 10+ years overall experience working in Logistics Planning & Execution or comparable.
    • In-depth knowledge of S&OP, Inventory Planning & Management, customer service, and transportation & logistics experience
    • Strong knowledge of finance and analytics
    • Pooling business model understanding and experience.
    • Results oriented, proactive, and solutions-oriented style with demonstrated strength in collaboration and problem solving.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in business process optimization and re-engineering.
    • Demonstrated proficiency leading and executing analytically rigorous initiatives and multiple stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to work effectively within complex decision making and organizational structures.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    • Ability to lead teams and people and influence senior leadership.
    • Proven ability to flex between tactical execution and strategic implementation.
    • Proven ability to build strong trusted working relationships with internal and external business partners and executive level management.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    • Advanced analytic skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SAP IBP, and Salesforce
    • Able to develop and implement business strategies and lead teams to delivery.
    • Advanced financial and supply chain understanding
    • Knowledge and experience with Pooling business models preferred.
    • Intellectually curious with an understanding of general business and supply chain finance
    • Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
    • Highly motivated, extremely organized and detail oriented
