    About the Position

    We're looking for an Associate Software Development Consultant to help build cloud-native applications and services for our clients.

    You'll work closely with customers to understand their business problems, and you'll work with your teammates to implement and deliver expected outcomes.

    Your primary responsibility is to write code for custom applications in the cloud, while working within established common practices.

    You'll be successful if you can consistently get stuff done and do it in the right way.

    You'll be expected to provide estimates for your work, and you'll work alongside your Team Lead to use best practices for cloud-native designs and implementations.

    A strong interest in building applications for Microsoft Azure is preferred; however, if you've got experience building for Amazon AWS or Google Cloud Platform, we'd still love to talk to you.

    Required Qualifications
    A passion for constant learning and being highly adaptable.

    Can effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
    Collaborates well with teammates and customers.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Prior experience building and deploying applications to Azure, AWS, or GCP.
    Prior work experience as a customer-facing technology consultant.
    A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar.

    Responsibilities
    Work with your Team Lead to understand requirements, priorities, and timelines.
    Write full-stack code to implement and deliver application features.
    Write unit and integration tests to automate test coverage and correctness.
    Troubleshoot, debug, and fix application bugs.
    Help set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployments.
    Refactor application code to improve flow logic and maintainability.
    Provide estimates for tasks and work items and deliver them in a consistent, timely manner.
    Uphold engineering excellence by using established best practices, standards, and guidelines.
    Contribute to a team culture of consistent high-quality delivery.
    Participate in code reviews on pull requests.

    Technologies

    This is not an exhaustive list, but includes many of the languages, technologies, and tools we use to develop cloud-native applications for customers.

    As an Associate Software Development Consultant, we expect junior-level or better proficiency with some of the following items:

    Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS for cloud platform technologies.
    C#, .NET Core, Node, TypeScript, and Java for building backends.
    ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET Web API, and Express for building RESTful APIs.
    React, Angular, Vue, Next, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for building frontends.
    React Native, Flutter, .NET MAUI, and Native iOS/Android for mobile development.
    SQL Server, Cosmos, MySQL, and PostgreSQL for databases.
    Entity Framework, Hibernate, Sequelize, and Knex for ORM and query building.
    Visual Studio and VS Code for writing and debugging code.
    Postman and Swagger for developing, testing, and using APIs.
    Docker for development containers.
    Azure DevOps and Jira for managing backlogs, tasks, and work items.
    Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines and workflows.

    Location

    Neudesic operates in a hybrid work environment, and this role will work physically and/or virtually out of our Solution Center based in either Columbus, OH or Phoenix, AZ.
