    We are a cross-functional team, with engineering, product, design, and marketing professionals working together to deliver customer value. Our tech stack includes Javascript/Typescript, PHP, Python, AWS technologies, and frameworks such as React, Koa, Slim, and GraphQL.

    About the role

    Our engineering team owns reporting and data products for real estate agents. We're on a mission to make agents as effective as possible and have end-to-end ownership of our agent-facing data products, from pipelines to the UI. We have a long-term roadmap and the alignment needed to build effective experiences powered by thoughtfully designed data engineering systems. Your work will have a direct and measurable impact on our customers' business outcomes while also focusing on engineering leadership to improve our data systems and architecture.

    This role has been categorized as a Remote position. "Remote" employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified by the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

    This role has been categorized as a Remote position. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

    In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $197, $314,900.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.

    In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

    Who you are

    As an engineering manager at Zillow, you will help to solve ambitious cross-team challenges and coordinate the delivery of critical initiatives. You will work closely with multiple internal and external teams and should have experience paying down tech debt and adhering to a clear team charter.

    The Apex team works within an org with seven related, multi-functional teams, full-stack and mobile, managing the full ZG experience for our Premier Agent partners. We cover the complete product lifecycle from data engineering and data stores to front-end experiences. The team plays a significant role in many of Zillow's top priorities, including supporting the Zillow Home Loans, Seller Options, and Touring organizations. Senior managers are typically hands-on when it comes to system design and project management, while they keep it a priority to maintain a successful team with high morale through coaching, mentoring, and focused career development.

    As a Senior Manager for the team, you will have an opportunity to:
