    Description

    The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions and analysis, including assisting with the month-end close process, licenses & permits submissions, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements and budget. This position will work closely with the accounting team to ensure the smooth operation of our financial systems and processes.

    Duties/Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
    • Assist with monthly closing processes including preparing and posting journal entries.
    • Complete bank account reconciliations, reviews general ledger accounts and perform monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
    • Researches and analyzes variances between budget and actual by making necessary journal entry adjustments and/or explanations.
    • Assist in the preparation and timely filings of facility business licenses & permits, sales tax, and parking occupancy tax forms.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Analyze financial data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
    • Assist on ad-hoc projects with in accounting and finance department and other departments
    • Assist with the year-end audit and tax preparation process.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
    • Manage and support accounts payable and receivable staff.
    • Maintain a strong understanding of relevant accounting rules and regulations.
    Qualifications

    Required Skills/Abilities:
    • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct).
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong work ethic and attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong understanding of relevant accounting rules and regulations.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Willingness to work overtime
    • Interpersonal and leadership capabilities with the ability to work with various functional teams.
    Education and Experience:

    Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
    Minimum Experience required:
    • 2 or more years of experience in an accounting role preferred.
