    Kforce has a client in Fremont, CA that is seeking an Equipment Engineer/Lab Service Engineer to join them as part of the enabler for the company's fast business growth Summary:The Engineer will primarily work on plasma etching semiconductor equipment in the cleanroom applications lab. They will be a key contributor in developing new products by working with technologists to make the first prototype to prove concept, and installing and setting up First-in-Lab new product, and perform routine maintenance or troubleshooting to ensure the machines are up and running to support customer demonstration and business penetration. The Engineer will be the expert to help others gain hardware knowledge, skills, and support. They will have various career development areas within the team, such as hardware expertise, project management skills, and operations leadership skills.Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for preventative/corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and calibration on equipment in the R&D applications lab
    • Performs the preventative/corrective maintenance using required Personal Protective Equipment which may include respirator and APR (Air Purifying Respirator)
    • Works closely with and supports Process Development, Hardware, and Software Engineering department's R&D activities and customer demos/commits
    • Installs and supports prototype equipment and may develop procedures and documentation as needed in support of design and R&D activities which likely have little or no written procedures
    • Occasionally may be required to travel domestically and internationally to customer sites to address tool/system issues that cannot be resolved without their support

    Requirements

    • Master's degree in Engineer Field, or Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience, or Associate degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent military experience
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed, R&D environment with potentially hazardous energies and chemistries
    • Ability to multi-task with shifting priorities, and the ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
    • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, electronic equipment and or vacuum equipment

    The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

    We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

    Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
