    The Manufacturing Equipment Engineer will be responsible for manufacturing equipment design, different levels of automation implementation, data collection/reduction, and owning all facilities-related tasks for the production and development lines.

    The role will be accountable for the equipment design, ensuring it meets production quality/throughput/cost and collaborating with the design teams throughout the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs to drive alignment with current and future equipment capabilities.

    The role will be heavily involved in building prototype energy storage systems and supporting the development and transition of manufacturing technologies.

    Design equipment to meet design requirements
    Develop new capabilities for prototype and production products
    Develop production floor layout in AutoCAD
    Maintain all facilities requirements, requests, and implementations
    Collaborate with NPI engineers to down-select production line equipment
    0 solutions on new and existing equipment
    Machine components as needed (milling, turning, grinding, water jet, etc)
    Direct contract manufacturers on outsourced equipment
    Create maintenance plans for customized equipment
    Design, develop, and implement safety equipment for use with high-voltage products
    Conduct deep dives on equipment failures, quality issues, and optimizations
    Generate business cases for new or optimized capabilities for equipment
    Partner with PMO organization to implement build plan
    Up to 10% of domestic and international travel
    Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field required; Minimum five (5) years of experience in engineering (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
    Experience designing and manufacturing tooling and semi/fully automated equipment
    Experience developing laser welding processes
    Experience designing in CAD (Catia preferred)
    Experience with project management
    Understanding of writing and performing FATs and SATs
    Proficiency in any commonly used coding language such as Python, C++, or etc
    Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles
    Ability to create testing methods that can be used to evaluate the quality and functionality of products or systems
    Proficiency with Excel VLOOKUP, pivot tables, MS Office Suite

    Experience in aviation, automotive, and the mobility space with UAS or UAM preferred
    LEAN/Six Sigma experience and qualifications preferred
