THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY **Responsibilities** The Lead Food Service Worker position will support the Food Service Supervisor with monitoring and leading the Catering Services operations and staff working in the main kitchen. This position leads coordinates and monitors catering. Maintains and supports established guidelines and standards- serving as onsite representative for the catering supervisor ensuring seamless executions of all event details from delivering/ setting up and breaking down event for all departments. In accordance with UCDHS standards of excellence. Serves food and beverages at high level receptions and dinners, including but not limited to health system event such as: recognition events, major groundbreakings, building grand openings, major fundraising event, donor stewardship events, SOM and SON events. Community events. In this compacity the incumbents must able to interact with all levels of management and guests alike. This position is responsible to monitor food quality, safety, service timelines and customer service. The incumbent will focus on ensuring job tasks are being completed on time, sanitation sheets are completed and audited daily. The incumbent will train and coach employees, assisting with completing training documents. The incumbent will communicate issues and problem solve with the Supervisor. The incumbent will adhere to and help hold accountable the food service workers to all department policies and procedures. This position may be responsible for one or more service areas during the absence of other lead positions or supervisors. Also responsible for maintaining inventory, and catering supplies and equipment. Ensure all food and accessories for proper presentation are completed on time for each event. **Required Qualifications**

    Basic principles of providing catered events

    Many years of experience in food service.

    Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email.

    Prior experience providing customer service.

    Effective written and oral communication skills.

    **Preferred Qualifications**

    Skill to work under pressure, meet deadlines and schedules: be flexible with work schedule and job assignment

    Skill and/or experience working with food safety auditors and food safety regulations.

    Leadership or prior lead or supervisory experience

    Knowledge of University and departmental policies and procedures. Experience working in a union environment.

    Prior experience facilitating team building, engagement and training other staff.

    Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food allergens.

    Experience with POS and cash handling.

    ServSafe certification.

    **Special Requirements**

    This position must be available to work variable schedules including weekends and holidays and overtime as needed.

    Must be able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Must have ability to bend stoop or stand for prolonged periods of time. Move heavy containers, and manipulate or move heavy carts and or containers.

    This position is subject to fingerprinting and criminal background investigation.

    Able to travel around UCDH and to other catering event locations.

    Must have a valid California Drivers License

    This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
