    Description
    This position allows for 3 days per week remote / work from home.
    We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant with a background in healthcare to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of healthcare accounting principles, regulations, and reporting requirements.
    Responsibilities


    Financial Reporting:
    Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for healthcare entities.

    Revenue Cycle Management:
    Assist in revenue cycle processes, including billing, collections, and reimbursement analysis for healthcare services.

    Cost Analysis:
    Analyze costs related to healthcare services, supplies, and operations to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

    Budgeting and Forecasting:
    Support budgeting and forecasting activities for healthcare departments or facilities, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.

    Compliance:
    Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accounting standards (such as GAAP), and internal policies and procedures.

    Audit Support:
    Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation, conducting reconciliations, and addressing audit inquiries related to healthcare financials.

    Financial Analysis:
    Perform financial analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning in healthcare organizations.

    General Ledger Maintenance:
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts, journal entries, and reconciliations for healthcare transactions.

    Interdepartmental Collaboration:


    Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, operations, and clinical teams, to provide financial insights and support for healthcare initiatives.


    Ad Hoc Projects:
    Participate in special projects, process improvements, and initiatives to enhance financial operations and reporting in healthcare settings.
    Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with specific experience in healthcare accounting.
    Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement systems, regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid), and financial reporting for healthcare entities.
    Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
    Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with large datasets.
    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
    Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
