    Land Surveying Department Manager at Priest, Craven & Associates, Inc.

    Priest, Craven & Associates, Inc. is a well-established land use consulting firm seeking a skilled individual to join as a Land Surveying Department Manager, stepping into the position upon the retirement of our current survey manager.

    Our focus lies in boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, wetland and tree location surveys, as well as construction staking for both residential and commercial projects. We also handle record plats and asbuilt surveys of developed street and utility infrastructure.

    • Long average staff tenure of 20 years

    As the Land Surveying Department Manager, you will be responsible for supervising field operations, managing project assignments for CAD technicians, and coordinating fieldwork schedules for three survey crews.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with team members to schedule survey projects and ensure timely completion
    • Organize daily field data and office computations for projects
    • Utilize Autodesk Civil 3D to produce various drawings, particularly detailed topographic surveys and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
    • Process conventional and GPS data using Carlson or TDS software
    • Perform other necessary duties to facilitate the progress of client projects

    Experience and Certification:

    A minimum of seven years of experience is required, along with PLS certification or working towards it.

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Proficiency in GPS and Robotic survey equipment operation
    • Advanced skills in Autodesk Civil 3D
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
    • Strong time management skills and the capacity to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic, deadline-driven office environment
