- Assesses, develops, implements and evaluates the plan of care using the nursing process and proactively anticipates patient needs;
- Provides individual assistance to patients, families and care givers throughout the course of treatment; organizes multi-disciplinary and/or multi-centered care, facilitates effective communication with care providers, and provides education for patients within their primary disease site;
Coordinates all education and training required for the care team; - Responsible for the patient experience by ensuring excellent customer service and timely management of any patient complaints;
- Ensures that all patient questions and/or concerns are referred to the proper department and addressed in a timely manner;
- Serves as the point of contact for patients with questions about their plan of care, as well as the point of contact for the attending and all consulting physicians.
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time oncology nursing experience or critical care experience; or
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting; or
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting.
