    Description

    We are looking for a Clinical Support Tech I at The Maternity Care Center / Mother - Baby (5 Women's).

    - A dual role; a Nursing Assistant I and a Health Unit Coordinator (Clerical)

    - 28 bed mother/baby unit providing low and high risk postpartum care

    • Strong knowledge base in postpartum care for vaginal and cesarean section care, late preterm infant care, normal newborn care, breastfeeding, and family teaching

    - Baby Friendly designated hospital providing couplet care, rooming-in, sibling visitation, and rounding by lactation consultants

    - Qualifies for Nursing Support Incentive Program with $5,000 over a three-year commitment

    - Responsibilities include assisting in patient care delivery, transporting patients/equipment, maintaining patient rooms, and clerical/transcription duties

    - Assists physicians with examinations/procedures, reviews patient care documentation, and provides clerical support

    - Conducts quality assurance audits, safety checks, inventory maintenance, and administrative/clerical tasks

    - Provides direct personal care, specimen collection, wound care, and patient education

    - Listed as Nurse Aide I Registry with North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification required

    - Requires 1 year of clerical/customer service experience and 6 months of related nursing assistant experience

    - Must be fluent in verbal and written English language

    - Legal Employer: UNC Medical Center, Entity: UNC Medical Center, Organization Unit: 5 Women's

    - Work Type: Full Time, $63 per hour (Hiring Range)

    - Exempt From Overtime: No, State position employed by UNC Health Care System
