    Description

    With two shifts, we're the right place to look if you're a night owl or an early riser who prefers day shift.

    In fact, our Sterling Heights facility is looking for two Laser Operators / Programmers. We have one opening on day shift and one opening on night shift.

    Our Laser Operators / Programmers:

    Set up jobs, changes, buy-offs and Programming
    Determine machine parameters to cut various types of material
    Evaluate part quality using blue prints and/or check aids
    Build and weld fixtures
    Deburr parts
    Punch tooling holes
    Cut parts
    Maintain machines and perform all preventative maintenance activities on a timely basis
    Keep lasers aligned
    Clear alarms (machine & computer)
    Perform basic machine troubleshooting and computer repairs
    Organize fixtures
    Ensure proper tagging of finished parts for correct routing
    Maintain 5S requirements within the area
    Communicate with next shift to report any problems encountered. Update supervisor. Update target time utilized.
    Maintain continuous improvement in quality & productivity
    Put safety first – always wear all required protective equipment (including safety glasses) and follow proper department procedures.
    Actively participate in process troubleshooting with press room, sheet metal and inspection departments
    Help and mentor/develop less experienced team members so they become experienced operators

    We're looking for:

    a High School Diploma or GED
    Three (3) years previous work experience in an manufacturing / engineering environment is preferred.
    Ability to work with little to no supervision
    Proficient in English (reading, speaking, and writing)
