- Assist underwriters in the processing of new business transactions
- Use established practices, processes, and procedure to write new policies based on underwriting authority
- Review new business application documents, gather additional information as needed to accurately underwrite policies and provide pertinent information to underwriting staff
- Understand Commercial and Specialty liens rating methodology and coverage
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
- Ability to follow process and have attention to detail
- Knowledge of industry practices, standards, and underwriting concepts
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Able to multi-task and solve basic problems
- Flexibility to handle various assignments and changing priorities
- Bachelor's degree in Insurance or Finance; equivalent related experience in lieu of degree
- AU and/or INS certification
