NPW is seeking a highly organized, metrics driven, and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. If you enjoy mentoring a team and helping to create processes to improve efficiency, then this is a great opportunity for you. The position is an in-office role at our Corporate Headquarters in Hialeah, Florida.

The ideal candidate for this position will provide support to home office, distribution centers, and store staff employing a high degree of professionalism and customer service focus. This position will report to the Controller.

NPW is a leading independent automotive aftermarket parts distributor. The Company has over 500 employees, over 50 company owner locations in 16 states and Canada that include both stores and warehouses. NPW was founded in 1969 and has grown significantly through the successful completion of 30 acquisitions and organic endeavors.

Responsibilities:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions.
Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Ability to research and analyze data and speak to trends
Experience processing multi state sales tax
Filing of annual tangible property tax returns and lease accounting as per ASC842

Educational & Skills Requirement:

Bachelor's degree in accounting
5-10 years' experience in accounting/finance- Sales Tax, Bank Recs, Fixed Assets, Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations, Research capabilities, Monthly Closings, Process and Procedures documentation.
Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
Experience with financial reporting requirements
Excel and ERP systems
Good written and verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements:

Occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.
Ability to sit, stand and/or walk the duration of the shift
Must be able to operate a computer and communicate via the telephone.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing
