We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Maintenance Manager within our Chemical Manufacturing Facility located in Hahnville, Louisiana.

    Essential Job Duties
    • Develop, manage, and participate in programs, methods, systems, and practices for maintaining a safe work environment
    • Direct and motivate subordinates participation in programs, methods, systems, and practices for maintaining a safe work environment
    • Develop the required human resources capability for achieving the required Taft Plant Maintenance goals
    • Direct the activities of the Taft Technical Maintenance Department in a manner that achieves quality maintenance in a safe efficient, and reliable manner
    • Control maintenance expenditures within budget requirements by monitoring expenditures, adjusting priorities, and forecasting future maintenance requests
    • Direct work of outside contractors permanently assigned to the Taft Plant
    • Develop effective liaison with Division and Corporate staff to enhance planning for efficient use of property and equipment
    • Direct planning and scheduling program and its' effectiveness through the use of established benchmarks and parameters
    • Ensure that open lines of communication exists between the Maintenance Organizations and all other plant departments by supporting I.M. techniques
    • Ensure consistency of application and administration of all policies, including Affirmative action and Diversity Programs
    • Maintain overall physical facilities of plant in targeted condition. Recommend request for capital funds for replacement, expansion and modernization
    • Evaluate site's Process Safety and Risk Accountability system as described by procedure HESP-610 annually to ensure that programs accurately reflect OxyChem's current process safety and risk management efforts and goals.
    • Create, review, and evaluate the sites' overall PSM organization/responsibilities and their effectiveness to correct deficiencies according to procedure HESP-610.
    • Participates and accepts responsibility for meeting plant and individual PSM goals and monthly spreadsheet responsibilities as required by HESP-610 Procedure.
    • Actively participates in plant's Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security (HESS) programs to assure a safe and environmentally sound workplace.
    • Assumes accountability for meeting plant safety goals and various other requirements including training, work permits, critical items inspections, job observations, housekeeping, reporting hazards and issues, and working safely in job assignments.
    • Actively participates in safety meetings and various other HESS programs while promoting safety through offering recommendations to other employees on working safely.
    • Develops, establishes and maintains systems for key performance indicator metrics for tracking and measuring system performance against business objectives.
    • Maintains close communications with Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, Tech Services, and Transportation to ensure that customer's requirements are understood and necessary actions are taken to maximize customer satisfaction.
    • Supports and fulfills the requirements of the plant's ISO Quality System.
    • Ensures open lines of communications exist across plant departments and with all plant employees.
    • Ensures consistency of application and administration of all policies, including EEO, Affirmative Action, and Diversity Programs.


    *Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Ability to travel to all areas in the facility which may require climbing, ascending and descending stairs, and traveling long distances, as required. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Ability to respond to audible and visual alarms. Ability to communicate verbally and in written form.
  • Review, approve, and prioritize maintenance work requests and assign Maintenance and Stores personnel as required.
  • 10 years experience in plant operations, resolution of issues (equipment and/or people) prior to impact on the plant's ability to produce and deliver planned volumes while working in a safe, environmentally clean, cost effective and expansion atmosphere preferred.
