    Allina Health Cancer Institute Highlights

    Allina Health is embarking on a transformational initiative to improve care for the 17,000 people diagnosed with cancer each year in the Twin Cities. The vision for the Allina Health Cancer Institute centers on value creation through coordination of the full continuum of oncology - from prevention/ detection through treatment and survivorship. The Institute is unique in the region and empowered to direct substantial investments in cancer facilities, physician recruitment, clinical and research programs, and strategic partnerships. Importantly, the Institute oversees cancer care across the entire health system, ensuring that consistently exceptional outcomes are delivered in any setting where patients access cancer care. This model - tested and refined nationally at other large "hybrid" academic-community cancer programs -provides high-quality cancer care close to home.

    • The Allina Health Cancer Institute is being built upon the outstanding foundation of Allina's current cancer program, widely recognized for its clinical expertise, care coordination, and compassionate approach to care
    • >50,000 cancer patients cared for annually, including approximately 6800 new cases each year
    • #1 in inpatient cancer surgery in the Twin Cities - a product of Allina's cancer a product of Allina's cancer surgical oncology practice
    • #1 breast cancer program in the Twin Cities, caring for 1,400 newly diagnosed patients each year
    • Over 25 oncology nurse navigators supporting patients and families throughout their cancer journeys
    • 9 cancer care locations throughout Minnesota and Western Wisconsin

    Position Summary

    The Operations Director is responsible for enterprise-wide cancer care including cancer center and breast center operations and program development which provides care for over 50,000 patients per year, including 6,000 new cancer cases annually.

    • Manage financial and operational performance of 10 CoC accredited multidisciplinary cancer clinics and NAPBC accredited breast centers with $100M operating budget and 300 FTEs.
    • Lead practice management of 70 FTE surgical, medical and radiation oncology practices.
    • This role has 6 direct reports.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provides leadership and management for multi-site clinical operations and services.
    • Enacts best practice standards of care for the Oncology clinical service line.
    • Manages employees and holds them accountable for role responsibilities, competencies, individual performance and goals.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in health care, business management or related field required .
    • Master's degree in business, public health or hospital administration strongly preferred.
    • 7+ years of progressive health care operations experience required.
    • 7+ years of health care management experience required.
    • Prior oncology experience strongly preferred.

    Physical Demands
    Sedentary: Lifting weight Up to 10 lbs. occasionally, negligible weight frequently.
