Position Description
This role will be the main point of contact for patients in need of medical assistance. Responsibilities include processing claims from providers, utilizing computer systems to record and share patient information, identifying patient cases, conducting financial screenings, facilitating program enrollments, providing non-medical counseling, tracking cases, and preparing all required documentation. Individuals in this role will act as ambassadors for the program, representing it to healthcare providers, local communities, and health agencies. Therefore, maintaining a positive and professional attitude while interacting with patients, community leaders, as well as local health and state agency personnel is crucial. Travel between local health agencies will be necessary, and occasional home visits may be requested. The work environment will mostly be in clinical settings, requiring frequent interaction with patients, families, clinic staff, and external support organizations. There may be instances where travel and responsiveness during off-duty hours are needed in exceptional circumstances.
