As a District Manager, Retail you are responsible for directing, educating, and supporting store managers and team members within their assigned district and will consult with independent retailers and directly oversee assigned corporate retail stores to assist with the sales, merchandising, service environment, cleanliness and overall profitability while working to increase the volume of goods and services that the store offers.
Job DescriptionFull Time, On-Site Role
Location: 2215 Union Ave, Sheboygan, WI 53081
You will contribute by:
Consulting, supervising, directing and managing all phases of the assigned stores in a manner designed to obtain the highest possible sales and margins; control labor and other operating expenses and maximize the overall store performance
Overseeing supervisors and corporate store managers in assigned district and responsible for developing, promoting, interviewing, hiring, and training new store managers/owners, and department managers in assigned stores; planning, assigning, and directing work and responsibilities; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems;
Reviewing and adhering to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations including full compliance with all applicable laws pertaining to safety, health, sanitation, and regulations in all assigned stores;
Assisting retailers with budgeting, goals, pricing and product selection and ongoing measurements and comparisons of results.
Visiting independent stores on a regular basis to provide suggestions, ideas, best practices and operational evaluations for the retailers and visiting corporately-owned stores on a frequent basis to directly supervise the store operations and personnel.
Reviewing financial reports comparing results to the averages, highlighting weak areas, and developing and implementing action plans.
Developing team action plans for the supervisory team to implement at the store, review progress and results with supervisors, retailers, and corporate store managers.
We're searching for candidates with:
Knowledge of arithmetical calculations necessary to consult store managers and owners on a variety of topics such as, gross margins, sales distributions, labor percent, inventory shrink calculation, budgets, financial results, forecasts, and projections.
Basic accounting skills to explain how different aspects of the operation relate to the bottom line results.
Must occasionally exert or lift up to 75 pounds carrying boxes of products and frequently exert or lift moderate amounts of weight
Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision and the ability to adjust focus and sufficient visual acuity to check and verify invoices and other written documents
Require sufficient physical mobility or agility to be able to respond quickly to fire or other emergencies and sufficient dexterity to disassemble and clean power equipment.
Ability to frequently travel to stores, allocating 4 days onsite and 1 day in-office weekly, with mileage reimbursement provided.
A minimum of five years of experience in retail operations with successful participation in a management training program; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
