Description

The Supervisor of Electronics will be responsible for planning, implementing, administering, troubleshooting, and repairing the various electronics building systems, electronics equipment, IP phones, and all audio/video technologies to meet and exceed requirements directed by the district's instructional and administrative technology programs.

This position will manage the day-to-day electronics department operations and supervise the IT Support Specialist and Electronics Technician positions.


  • Hold a two-year degree in Electronics or the equivalent in training/experience as evaluated by the Superintendent.
  • One or more years of progressive experience in the development, installation, training, and support of building systems including LAN, Audio, Video, IP Phone, and TV technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Macintosh, and Google operating systems.
  • This position has extensive personal contact with administrative and district staff which requires excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to deal with highly confidential material responsibly.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical standards.
  • Strong team leadership/project management skills.
  • Ability to conduct research and summarize data in presentation format.
  • Experience in vendor contract negotiation and administration.
  • Ability to interpret federal and state statutes and organizational policies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
This position will involve 8 hours per day, 12 months per year. The rate of pay will be between $68,000 and $72,000.

  • Work with technology department team members in the configuration, operation, and maintenance of equipment and software to support district technology requirements.
  • Manage daily operations of the electronics department.
  • Coordinate the installation, maintenance, and repair of buildingbased electronic systems.
  • Manage desktop, laptop, iPad, Chromebook, printer, and other building electronic equipment repairs.

  • Staff Supervision and Development
  • Supervise IT Support Specialist and Electronics Technician positions.
  • Complete annual employee evaluations for electronics department staff
  • Provide guidance and support to electronics department team members.
  • Provide staff development opportunities for electronics department staff.
  • Plan and develop overall departmental goals and objectives.
  • Develop and present inservice programs on the configuration and use of electronicsrelated technologies.
  • Project management
  • Meet with stakeholders to determine expectations and requirements.
  • Determine the scope and sequence of projects.
  • Create proposals and write specifications.
  • Develop and manage timelines.
  • Schedule human and material resources.
  • Review and revise the project budget.
  • Develop RFP specifications for District building projects and referendums.
  • Develop specifications.
  • Review vendor proposals.
  • Make vendor recommendations.
  • Review, recommend, and prepare school district policies for the Board of Education related to district technology.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with District board policies, rules, and exhibits.
  • Schedule and attend technology management meetings.

Work Order Management:

  • Record and assign work orders using the TMA maintenance management system.
  • Establish and implement a plan for the timely completion of work orders.
  • Prioritize work orders to support desktop, laptop, iPad, Chromebook, building equipment, and infrastructure installation and repairs.
  • Visit, inspect, and review work order sites and integrate gathered information into the planning process.

Pay:
$68, $72,000.00 per year
