    Sous Chef - Restaurant Location: Waikiki
    Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 a year Job Type: Full-time
    Shift and Schedule:

    • Extended hours

      Job Description:
      POSITION SUMMARY:
      We are seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will exhibit a passion for excellence in culinary arts, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and possess a keen eye for detail. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food and service, and collaborating with the culinary team to maintain our standards of excellence.
      ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    • Collaborate with the Executive Sous Chef to establish kitchen goals and implement strategies for success.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to kitchen staff during service hours.
    • Maintain quality, presentation, and consistency standards for all food items.
    • Assist with ordering, inventory management, and preparation as needed.
    • Address guest feedback promptly and implement corrective actions when necessary.
    • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
    • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork among staff members.
    • Perform related duties as assigned.

      REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Valid Food Handler Certification or equivalent.
    • Experience in a leadership role within a culinary environment.
    • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
    • Proficiency in English language.
    • Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Two (2) years of experience in a similar position.
    • Certification of Culinary training or apprenticeship.
    • Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes.

      SKILLS/APTITUDES:

    •Strong guest service orientation.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Proficient in kitchen equipment operation and knife skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Problem-solving abilities and self-motivation.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills required.

      WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    • Indoors, primarily in the kitchen area.
    • Exposure to heat, cold, and steam.
    • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

      Experience Level: 2 years
      Pay Rate: Yearly pay
      Shift: Day shift, Evening shift, Morning shift
      Supplemental Pay Types: Bonus opportunities
      Weekly Day Range: Monday to Friday, Weekends as needed Work Setting: Casual dining restaurant
      Work Location: In person
