    Customer Service/Counter Sales Representative

    Full Time

    Evansville, IN

    SUMMARY:

    EBN Industrial Supply, a Bostwick-Braun Company, is currently looking for a Customer Service/Counter Sales Representative for the MRO/ Industrial Sales Department, who reports directly to the Customer Service Manager. This position handles all inquiries to the status of assigned customers' merchandise orders and accounts by performing the following duties.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

    • Handles all calls from assigned customers and Industrial Sales Representatives in a professional and business-like manner.
    • Process credit memos to assigned customers for over-shipments, shortages, returned goods, approved price adjustments, vendor credits, defective or damaged goods.
    • Enters, sources, and processes merchandise orders for customers.
    • Research customer back-ordered merchandise upon request. Expedites merchandise shipments or cancels as directed.
    • Process requests for copies of invoices, credit memos, catalog pages, supplies, price lists, bills of lading, etc. for assigned customers and Industrial Sales Representatives.
    • Handles inquiries regarding delivery. Notifies customers of delays in shipment, changes in delivery schedules, and/or abnormal shipment sizes.
    • Assists others during peak workloads and absences.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Technical knowledge of fasteners & Industrial Products.
    • Assists customers at the Counter when they pick up orders.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, including having extensive knowledge of, or experience with fasteners and/or cutting tools.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

    Good PC skills are necessary. Organizational skills and effective communication skills are also necessary. It is critical to be attentive to detail while dealing with customers on an oral and written level. Must be able to effectively resolve customer problems. Requires relationship building and follow-up.
