    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    This role will perform a variety of complex administrative tasks, manage financial operations, and generate operational reports to support the marketing team's objectives.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    ·Overseeing procurement processes for the Marketing Division, encompassing vendor selection, bid reception, requisition creation, and contract management.

    ·Supporting additional functions of the Marketing Division, such as operations at state farmers markets, oversight of commodity commissions, and licensing for Vidalia onions.

    ·Collaborating with other departments, external agencies, and vendors to resolve business-related issues.

    ·Exercising independent judgment across various tasks may lead to or provide substantial support for projects, grants, contracts, procedural implementations, or other specialized functions.

    ·This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and visibility of Georgia's agricultural sector in a dynamic, multifaceted environment.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an office manager, administrative assistant, or similar role.Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software.
  • Physical Demands:

    ·The position requires primarily office work including the need to move boxes, supplies, and materials.

    ·May need to lift boxes of up to 25 lbs.

    ·The position also entails walking throughout the office to deliver mail, checks, and other documents.

    NOTE: The Georgia Department of Agriculture conducts background checks on all final candidates. The hiring of applicants is contingent upon satisfactory employment verification results, background, criminal records investigations, and motor vehicle reports.

    Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience related to area of assignment.
