    Description

    Aquent is looking for an experienced motion design leader to be a part of our team at Microsoft that delivers outstanding experiences at Microsoft events. This role comprises a mix of design management and creative implementation skills, along with a passion for technology and events.

    Your primary focus will be on motion design and branding for multiple events, spanning various audiences and touchpoints. This includes bringing motion to the event experience in ways that align with the event aesthetic, create engagement, and enhance the attendee experience. You will be part of a thriving multi-disciplinary team of experienced designers and strategists working together to imagine, create, and oversee branded content across a variety of mediums.

    The ideal candidate will be able to an expert level understanding of both 2D and 3D motion design theory, animation, and visual storytelling and possess a talent for conceptual thinking and inclusive design. Creative problem solving through deep understanding of visual design tools is critical and you also should have a strong aesthetic senses with the ability to simplify complex ideas. You should be motivated, self-directed and enthusiastic with a desire to participate and grow in a highly collaborative environment, with a close-knit team of people who share a vision for developing, crafting and activating meaningful consumer experiences.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    Develop and support the priorities of the brand

    Define the visual and motion toolkit for cross event implementation, with an eye for efficiency

    Creation of mood boards, storyboards, creative briefs, and motion studies

    Develop motion style guidelines where they do not yet exist

    Ideation, design, and customization of motion video assets

    Deliver final video assets in formats appropriate for the audience and delivery

    Clearly communicate creative concepts to multiple audiences, ensuring the idea is understood and aligned across key partners and leadership

    Display a meticulous sense of detail and ability to seek out simple solutions to complex design challenges.

    Work collaboratively with other creative and production teams

    Work closely with designers and artists to ensure creative direction and feedback is clearly understood

    Provide design choices and creative rationale

    Research and share trends in pop culture, digital technology, and design

    Demonstrate a deep understanding of fundamental visual design disciplines (typography, iconography, composition, color, composition, layout, etc.).

    Become familiar with the technical constraints, user goals, and business requirements that shape current and future events

    Qualifications

    5+ years of experience in video and motion design with a concentration on 3D design and animation

    Experience with ultra large video formats, live events, broadcast design, and virtual sets

    Extensive experience leading and directing a team of designers and artists; including consolidating and interpreting feedback from multiple stakeholders

    Portfolio demonstrating range of experience

    Expert level proficiency in 3D and 2D visual design suites such as Adobe CC, Cinema 4D, Houdini, etc. along with a deep understanding of best practices and workflows

    Experience creating After Effects projects and expressions; allowing for rapid iterations and revisions

    Extremely strong motion and visual sensibilities, ability to use motion and visual thinking, storyboards, sketching, and communication design to create breakthrough motion design

    Experience working with audio and sound in sync with motion and video

    Experience in delivering multiple, iterative production assets to development and production counterparts on time and with quality

    Positive attitude and growth mindset

    Strong attention to detail

    Preferred Qualifications

    Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate to wide range of audiences and levels within the organization

    Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently or as a contributor

    An active listener with a proven ability to work cross-team and synthesize feedback and input from reviewers and stakeholders

    Knowledge of marketing fundamentals

    Experience creating motion design for social media

    Experience working in a creative agency setting

    The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $60 to $75 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.

    Additional benefits offered may include; medical health insurance and dental insurance, life insurance, and eligibility to participate in 401k plan with company match.
