    Job Title: Regional Credit Manager

    Reports To: Senior Credit Officer - Commercial

    Direct Reports: N/A

    Salary Grade: 13

    SUMMARY

    Works with Commercial Relationship Managers, Underwriters, Sales Managers, and Regional Presidents to achieve high credit quality via the loan approval and portfolio management process. Primary responsibility is commercial credit decisioning.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    • College degree or equivalent; Graduate degree preferred
    • Minimum 10 years' experience in a regulatory or commercial lending background (with at least 8 years in commercial lending)
    • Strong analytical skills with problem solving abilities
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
    • Good working knowledge of legal, documentation, and administrative aspects of Commercial Lending
    • Position requires in-market presence and regular travel between supported locations
    • Commercial Relationship Manager experience preferred
    • Supervisory and managerial experience preferred
    • Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.
    JOB FUNCTIONS
    • Commercial credit decisioning, encompassing an approximate $1 Billion loan portfolio. Deal size typically $1MM-$10MM, with medium to high complexity, within the C&I and CRE space.
    • Protect the assets of the bank through proper execution and administration of risk management policies and procedures. Accountable for quality approval decisions and overall quality of the assigned loan portfolio.
    • Work with Commercial Lending teams and Bank/Regional Presidents to promote the credit culture of United Community Bank
    • Approve credits in a timely and efficient manner helping to ensure Customer expectations are met
    • Serve as "gatekeeper" for approval of larger credits above assigned credit authority
    • Recommends changes in underwriting and policies where appropriate
    • Acts in an advisory and referral role to Lenders and Analysts in matters of compliance, regulation and policy
    • Lead role in monitoring credit quality including responsibilities for portfolio risk ratings, and oversight of criticized asset and portfolio review meetings
    • Assist in training new analysts, underwriters, lenders and the on-going training of policies, procedures and culture

    This is a full-time position that requires schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
