    About ASAM

    The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) is a dynamic medical professional society comprising over 6,000 members and supported by a team of more than 50 individuals, managing a significant annual budget of $10M. This organization offers diverse and exciting opportunities in the field of addiction medicine.

    Position Summary:

    This role focuses on delivering essential general telephone support for the society while providing administrative and project assistance to the Membership & Engagement, Governance & Operations departments.

    Responsibilities/Duties:

    Member Services

    • Handle inquiries via email and phone related to website access, membership, events, training, payments, and other ASAM offerings.
    • Maintain internal and external FAQ resources for staff consultation.
    • Monitor, analyze, and report trends and issues identified in emails and calls to department management.
    • Carry out additional assigned tasks.

    Membership

    • Process new member applications.
    • Manage membership renewals and update records accordingly.
    • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure data accuracy within the association database.
    • Undertake data entry and cleanup initiatives to enhance database integrity consistently.
    • Handle bi-monthly journal labels and reporting for JAM.
    • Perform other delegated responsibilities.

    Required Qualifications

    • One to two years of experience in member services within an association setting.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Experience in data management.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Preference for prior experience in medical associations.
    • Familiarity with MemberSuite (AMS) is advantageous.
    • Bachelor's degree.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Essential communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
    • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and the ability to engage with colleagues.
    • Resourceful and creative mindset highly appreciated.
