- A Master's degree and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or

- Certified Professional Contracts Manager, Certified Federal Contracts Manager, or Certified Research Administrator.
- In-depth knowledge of grants and contracts administration regulations and practices including those specific to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and 2 Code of Federal Regulations part 200.
- Negotiation and excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, are needed including the ability to communicate effectively with Institute and sponsor employees at all levels.
- Extensive business and leadership skills including ability to plan, develop and implement the organization's operational policies, strategic objectives and initiatives.
- Experience leading a complex business and compliance-driven environment.
- Ability to produce workable solutions to challenging situations.
- Skills related to the use of office equipment and specialized computer applications and systems.
- Experience with DOD contracting is necessary.
- Seven or more years related experience.
- Three or more years supervisory experience.
- Application of skills within a not-for-profit, educational or federal government contractor organization is preferred.
- Three to seven years of experience.
- Lead team responsible for: timely analysis of solicitations, proposal review and submission, negotiation of terms and conditions, and post award administration including coordination with the GIT Research Administration departments responsible for research integrity assurance.
- Set goals, determine priorities and provide feedback for assigned staff.
- Maintain current working knowledge of related federal regulations and agency requirements.
- Assist with formulation of GIT/OSP policy for administration of grants and contracts.
- Assist with strategic planning for GTARC/GTRI Directorate.
Complex problem solving. - Create and improve processes for grants and contracts administration.
- Advise faculty and staff on proposal submission process, post award administration, regulatory compliance requirements and Institute and federal agency policy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned. Manage team, support teams' professional development, and provide required performance feedback and evaluation.

About the Office of Sponsored Programs at the Georgia Institute of Technology
The Office of Sponsored Programs provides progressive and responsive assistance in several areas of research administration, including specialized educational, informational, and technological support to research administrators and faculty. OSP provides research faculty with full-service 'cradle to grave' support and administration for research contracts and grants at Georgia Tech including the following sponsors:
Services include review and interpretation of contract and grant requirements, determination of appropriate terms and conditions, and establishment of pre-contract agreements as well as the monitoring all active contracts and grants, including modification of existing agreements.

Job Summary
The Manager for Department of Defense Contracts Team 2 will lead a team of approximately four professionals responsible for major Department of Defense contracts. The Manager will establish priorities, set employee and/or team goals, assess employee and/or team performance and provide feedback. Additional responsibilities include assisting the Director with setting policy; strategic planning for the team and OSP; complex problem solving; and communication with faculty, staff and GTRI administration. Sponsored programs include grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements from federal government agencies, state and local government agencies, not-for-profits (including other universities), and industry (for federal flow-through grants and contracts). Role also includes oversight of negotiation and administration of teaming agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other exchange agreements.
This position may require security clearance.
This role is hybrid eligible.
