    We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to help coordinate the computational core within the Machine Biology Group/de la Fuente Lab.

    As the Computational Core Scientist, the candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing our cutting-edge research at the intersection of computational biology and ground-truth experimentation.

    Responsibility Breakdown:

    • Lead and oversee the computational core team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful execution of research projects. Contribute to the design and execution of experiments, data collection, and analysis to generate actionable insights.
    • Collaborate closely with researchers and scientists within the lab to design and implement computational strategies to address complex biological questions. Work on interdisciplinary projects, fostering collaboration between computational and experimental biologists.
    • Utilize expertise in computational biology, machine learning, and bioinformatics to develop and optimize algorithms and models for the analysis of highdimensional biological data.
    • Stay uptodate with the latest advancements in the field and apply innovative approaches to enhance our research capabilities.
    • Communicate findings and results effectively through presentations, reports, grants, and publications.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Master of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A Ph.
    D. or equivalent in computational biology, bioinformatics, machine learning, or a related field is preferred.

    • Proven experience in leading and managing a team of computational scientists while collaborating with experimentalists.
    • Proven experience with antimicrobial peptide design, including deep learning models.
    • Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative research environment.
    • Strong proficiency in computational biology, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics data analysis.
    • Expertise in machine learning techniques and their application to biological data.
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Julia.
    • Experience with data visualization tools and software.

    Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
