    The Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff.

    This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years).

    Expertise is required in the specific area of investigation of the emergence of hematopoietic stem cells in the embryo. Expertise is required in embryology and hematology using mouse models. Applicants must have a Ph.
    D. degree. Candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years of postdoctoral experience.


    Responsibilities may include mouse husbandry, flow cytometry, ability to sort ells using a BD influx, confocal microscopy, cell culture methods, mouse embryo dissection, molecular biology, and bioinformatics analysis.


    The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical thinking skills, familiarize themselves with related literature and experimental techniques, prepare manuscripts and grants, present research findings in national and international meetings, mentor junior scientists, participate in career trainings offered by the University, and learn teaching skills.
