    Position Details:

    • Title: R&D Scientist
    • Schedule: ~8:30 am - 5:00 pm, M-F, flexible. *This position is ONSITE in an office/lab setting.
    • Location: Gibbstown, NJ

    Essential Functions

    • Under the guidance of senior laboratory staff, develop products to meet customer needs.
    • Create product specifications for samples that are development.
    • Test and evaluate raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
    • Create, maintain, and organize standards, physical laboratory notebook, and electronic documentation.
    • Perform and maintain records for product and packaging stability.
    • Assist in the maintenance of KRP quality system, including but not limited to batch cards, QCAs, COAs and retains.
    • Complete projects and prepare reports/project summaries, as required.
    • Identify important scale up parameters and plant equipment to safely manufacture new formulations.
    • Operate analytical equipment.
    • Participate in the general upkeep of the QC/ R&D laboratory facility.
    • Work safely with hazardous chemicals and waste.
    • Operate and maintain analytical equipment.
    • Produce customer specialty samples as necessary.
    • Complete special assignments as required.

    Qualifications

    • 0-2 years' experience in a laboratory environment.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Good mathematical skills – unit conversion, ratio, percentage.
    • Good organizational skills.
    • Computer proficient.
    • Proficiency with MS Office - especially Excel.
    • Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Good decision-making skills.

    Education

    • 4-year college degree in a technical field (Chemistry, Bio-chemistry, Biology, Engineering or similar).
