The Innovative Genomics Institute (IGI) is a partnership between the University of California, Berkeley and the University of California, San Francisco.
The IGI envisions a world in which genome-engineering innovations benefit humanity and are accessible to all.Combining the fundamental research expertise and the biomedical talent at UCB and UCSF, the IGI focuses on unraveling the mechanisms underlying CRISPR-based genome editing and applying this technology to cure disease, ensure food sustainability, and provide additional benefits for current and future generations.
Application Review DateManage human cell engineering projects aimed at understanding the role of translation initiation factors in regulating translation.
Use a wide variety of standard repetitive laboratory procedures including molecular and cell biology methods.
RNA and Protein Biochemistry:
Maintain supplies for tissue culture facilities in the lab.
Prior lab experience in genome editing field.
Experience in lab organization and communication.
Education/Training:
~ Bachelor's degree or equivalent international degree in Molecular and Cell Biology or related fields and/or equivalent experience/training.

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $25.This is a 100%, full-time (40 hours per week), career position that is eligible for full UC benefits.
This position is non-exempt and paid bi-weekly.This position is governed by the terms and conditions in the agreement for the Research Support Professionals Unit (RX) between the University of California and the University Professional and Technical Employees (UPTE).
