Overview:

Registered Nurse (RN) CARES Partial Care Program

30 Hours Weekly (4 days Monday through Thursday OR 6 hours Monday through Friday from 8A-2P)

Population:
Children & adolescents

Location:
Capital Health at 601 Hamilton Avenue Trenton NJ

MUST have a BSN.

MUST have an NJ Registered Nurse license.

Experience working with children.

Responsibilities:


  • An integral member of the health care team, assists in coordinating patient care and communicates and collaborates with the other members of the healthcare team, patients and/or patient's family/guardian.
  • Shall provide patient and family education relative to nursing/medical and clinical services.
  • The BSN will perform nursing histories and physical assessments.
  • Participates in daily treatment team meeting, and attends other program meetings.
  • Demonstrates standard precautions and patient safety principles in practice.
  • Facilitate patients and families in meeting their psychosocial needs.
  • Assist with preauthorization of medications for the program.
  • Certified in the _Handle With Care_ behavior management system.
  • Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.
  • Subject to the bylaws and operating decisions of Virtua Health.

Qualifications:

  • A current CPR/BLS card with demonstrated and cognitive skills is required.
  • The BSN shall be a registered nurse licensed in the State of New Jersey.
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center.
  • Two years experience working with children.
  • Shall be involved in continuing education activities to further his/her own professional development.
